There are no genetically modified (GMO) ingredients and although the ingredients do mention wheat (known to be an allergen in dogs); buckwheat is in fact a seed and it contains many beneficial nutrients mainly for the skin. Einkorn wheat is chosen for its antioxidant properties as well as being loaded with the essential nutrients EFA’s, higher protein levels, zinc, iron, potassium, riboflavin, and vitamins B6 and A. All very important for heart and skin health.
Einkorn wheat is also highly digestible and is less likely to trigger reactions in people with wheat allergy as it has a different ration of gluten forming proteins to traditional wheats so is a good choice for people who may be gluten intolerant. The same can be applied to dogs.
