HEALTH BENEFITS
As well as making up a complete diet, Solo Vegetal’s ingredients also have a number of health benefits for the body, in particular the skin and gut:

- Hulled oats : contains a higher percentage of crude protein than other oats with a higher quantity of essential amino acids. Very rich in vitamins such as thiamin, pantothenic acid and nicotinamide. The inorganic fraction is rich in trace elements, phosphorus and potassium. The fibrous component is highly digestible.
- Einkorn wheat : thanks to its composition rich in trace elements, carotenoids and vitamin E, it has an important antioxidant action. Furthermore, the richness of polyunsaturated fatty acids and the high digestibility make it suitable even for the most sensitive dogs. Used in humans with coeliac.
- Buckwheat : gluten-free, rich in essential amino acids, it is actually a seed with a high biological value. It also contains rutin, a substance that supports the capillary walls.
- Spelt : naturally rich in protein and fibre and low in fat, it promotes correct intestinal transit.
- Evening primrose and borage oil : rich in essential fatty acids (omega 3 and omega 6) they perform a protective function of the hair-skin system and have a natural anti-inflammatory activity.
- Wheat germ : it has a high vitamin E content with a very important antioxidant function, capable of counteracting the action of free radicals. It also contains a particular substance, octacosanol, which improves physical resistance and contributes to the integrity of the nervous system.
- Spinach : vegetable with very effective remineralsing properties and important anti anaemic and purifying properties. Rich in chlorophyll, essential for fixing calcium, phosphorus and magnesium in the bones.
- Apple : apples contain significant vitamins. They contain numerous non-digestible fibrous compounds capable of regulating various metabolic functions: some are insoluble in water (such as cellulose) and facilitate normal intestinal emptying; others, hydrophilic, such as pectins, modulate and facilitate the absorption of nutrients.
- Tomato : the tomato has a refreshing, astringent, thirst-quenching, diuretic and digestive action. Above all, it allows for better absorption of starches. It is rich in nutrients, vitamins and mineral salts. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, a pigment which is recognised as having important cancer prevention properties.
- Carrots : carrots are the most important source of provitamin A (beta-carotene). Beta-carotene is a powerful antioxidant. It has a soothing action on the digestive system and regulates intestinal functions. Beta-carotene is very useful for tissue growth and repair, therefore it is invaluable in maintaining skin integrity.
- Chicory : it has exceptional properties: it stimulates the appetite; regulates the functions of the intestine, liver and kidneys; promotes the secretion of bile and diuresis; it has a purifying and detoxifying effect.
- Alfalfa : it is a perennial herbaceous plant and is rich in phytonutrients, beta-carotene, chlorophyll, octacosanol, minerals and vitamins and is made up of 50% protein. Useful for strengthening and stimulating the immune system, especially by stimulating cell turnover.

SIZE AND HEALTH BENEFITS

The individual pellets are round and marble-sized. The food can be mixed in with homemade plant-based food to provide a delicious balanced crunch for larger dogs, or they can be added to Kongs or activity mats to encourage foraging – ideal mental stimulation for your pet.

They make perfect training treats as they are non-greasy and can be kept safely in your pocket on walks with no concern of catching meat-based infections!

Please note that the large bags of Solo Vegetal state that the biscuits are for dog weight 8kgs+ They are nutritionally fine and balanced for smaller dogs too if they can handle the size of the biscuit. They can be mixed with water or warmed oat milk and softened if
the size of the biscuit is an issue with small dogs,
but very small dogs may struggle with the large size so maybe worth trying Green Crunch or Greta Mini for small dogs.
