French Bulldog eats vegan diet lying on grass

đź’š Bear is an adored Frenchie who suffers from so many food intolerances which results in him having intensely itchy ears. The main ingredient that seems to cause his painful yeasty itchy ears is.......yeast!

There are only 2 brands of plant-based dog food that Bear can eat which do not flare up his itchy ears, as they both contain no yeast.

Give A Dog A Bean and Solo Vegetal tins are the only plant-based foods available with no added yeast!

His Dad had this to say about Bear -

"I am amazed that for the first time in 2 years, Bear has not had itchy yeasty ears! Please don’t ever run out of Give a Dog. That would be a disaster lol!"

What else do we advise for dogs with sensitivity to yeast in the food as well as yeasty skin or ears?

  • Do NOT choose a vegan dog food that is very high in fat and the addition of high levels of yeast as this can really make a yeast infection that your dog may have on their skin much much worse.
  • If you know that your dog is sensitive to environmental allergens such as house dust mites, then choose a wet tinned food or home cook for your dog to avoid concerns about them reacting to storage mites that are found in all dried foods. If your dog will only eat dry food, then choose Solo Vegetal dry as the foil packaging seems to result in better management of the storage mites.
  • CLX wipes are veterinary medicated wipes that are effective against yeast and are gentle to clean your dog's affected ears.
