"My vet was so surprised by Luna's kidney blood results that she actually took Luna’s bloods again on Monday as she thought there had been a mix up!"

Sweet Luna the rescue from Northern Ireland has a wonderful Mum Sara who transitioned her onto Give A Dog A Bean with added Omega 3 Daily Algae oil when Luna was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease.

5 star Google Review as dog Luna had reversal in her kidney results eating a complete plant-based diet!

Please note that kidney disease (CKD) is NOT a curable condition in both humans and dogs and the usual route is for vets to prescribe a veterinary prescription renal diet such as the one shown below made from pig fat, animal byproducts and fish oils instead of pure Omega 3 Daily. CKD is always managed through diets.

(Although read the latest study here from Nottingham Vet School showing how renal prescription diets may be inadequate.)

What is the best wholefood diet for kidney disease?

A maintenance diet high in antioxidants, Omega 3s and pure proteins as well as healthy wholefood fibres that protect and support the remaining healthy kidneys as far as possible is what is recommended.

Luna is an exceptional case!

Please remember that kidney disease is NOT a curable condition in both humans and dogs.

9 year old Luna is an exceptional case, as Sara's vet was so astounded by Luna's blood results, that she had to repeat them a week later with Sara commenting:

"My vet was so surprised by Luna's kidney blood results after 3 months that she actually took Luna’s bloods again on Monday as she thought there had been a mix up!"

Luna's blood results on the left show a type of stage 2 kidney disease with very high BUN and Creatinine, and after a diet of Give A Dog A Bean wholefood trays and pure Omega 3 Daily, the results on the right show perfectly healthy kidneys after only 3 months!

"I want to thank you for your help when I booked the consultation for my dog who was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease, Luna’s recent blood work is fantastic. I can't express how grateful I am that I found this food and got speaking with a nutritionist who actually cares! It has made such a huge difference to Luna’s health" 💚 - Sara
