"My 4 year old flat coated retriever Tudor has, for the last 3 years, been plagued with really bad yeasty ear infections, usually flaring every 6 weeks and constant licking of her lady bits (even keeping us awake at night with her constant licking).
Several vets, both holistic & conventional could not find the root cause. Endless lotions, potions, different foods, elimination diets did nothing. One vet even said it's Apoquel or nothing and refused to give me her usual Surolan.
We changed to yet another vet. Last year she even started chewing her paws raw. We were at our wits end.
Then we happened to see a TV interview on Channel 5 with Dr Arielle and we thought we would give it a try. We had a teleconsultation with her and she said her ears were food related and her skin was dust mites/environmental. We immediately started her on a plant-based diet (she does well on Solo Vegetal) and damp dusted/hoovered more and used CLX wipes on her feet.
Although she is still a little itchy, it is manageable and the hair on her toes have grown back.
The most remarkable thing are her ears. Months on from starting her plant based diet, she has had NO ear flare-ups and they are so clean and healthy!
She loves the food, loves her fruit and veggies and her coat is gleaming.
