Bramble the dog who wanted to live forever

I have just reread Anne Heritage's book shown above which is available on Amazon here and well worth a read if you are wanting to be inspired about feeding your dog a wholefood plant-based diet.

Anne Heritage shows the most incredible devotion to all dogs under her care, as she was even mentioned in the Guinness World Book of Records for having one of her dogs Bramble live to the age of 25!!

Equally as remarkable, is having a very large German Shepherd called Dreadlock, live to the age of 15 years on a 100% wholefood plant-based diet with extra digestive enymes added for his health.

Here is a section from the book where she writes about her dogs -

What prompted me to reread Anne Heritage's book and highlight her German Shepherd Dreadlock, was an email that I received this week from equally as impressive German Shepherd rescuer Lesley who had this to say -

💚 "40 years go I was buying Happidog flakes (now V-Dog) plus I was cooking food for my dogs. I think you might be interested to know that GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE(GSDR) NO1  founder is vegan and promotes vegan diet for dogs.

I was so happy when I found this Just be Kind site as all my 21 rescued G. Shepherds have been vegan and a lot of people said I was being cruel etc making them eat vegan food but they have been more healthy for it. They love Solo Vegetal and Give a dog a bean."

-  Lesley

P.S. I have had so many G.Shepherds in my 40 years as I have taken in a lot of old ones.

Wow, I am in awe too of Lesley who has been feeding all the dogs under her care (in this case elderly rescue German Shepherds), a vegan diet for 40 years!!!! She is quite right that German Shepherd Rescue in Wiltshire advises all the dogs sent to new homes are fed a plant-based diet as German Shepherds thrive on this diet with their sensitive digestion.

Read about more amazing German Shepherd success stories here where dogs with the common condition anal farunculosis, respond SO well to going plant-based!
