From raw to thriving on plant-based for Roxy the German Shepherd

She's had no digestive issues since being fed plant-based which is amazing. I'd feed her this way now regardless of her intolerances.

German Shepherd Roxy in the sea who had transitioned from a raw food diet to a plant-based diet

We are so grateful to Rachel for sharing in Roxy her German Shepherd's story with us below (and for taking such an amazing photo of Roxy in the water!)

"It was really upsetting seeing Roxy so unwell for so long with digestive issues. She'd be better for a couple of weeks and then we'd be back to square one.

Horrible to think I'd played a part in causing the problem in the first place by trying a raw food diet initially before switching to plant-based dog food.

Lots of breeds like German Shepherds who seem to have sensitive tummies would benefit from plant based feeding.

I worked as a kennel attendant for Northumbria police for 12 years and so many had digestive issues I would really recommend people giving it a go with their dogs." 💚🐾 - Rachel

How right Rachel is that German Shepherd's like Roxy have such sensitivities with their food and they do so well on complete plant-based diets such as Solo Vegetal premium dry food and Give A Dog A Bean soya-free wet food.

Dr Arielle speaks at London Vet Show 2025 about the benefits of plant-based dog nutrition
When nutrition is done right, you don’t necessarily notice it working — you just notice your dog thriving. No noise, no stress, no vet appointments. To benefit our environment and farmed animals too is a massive bonus!
