Why do German Shepherds Thrive on a Plant-Based Diet?

Research shows that plant-based nutrition is the least inflammatory of all the diets and can offer a kind alternative and solution for highly sensitive German Shepherds with:

💚 Itchy skin and allergies

💚 Sensitive stomachs

💚 Weight management

💚 Joint issues

💚 Longevity

German Shepherds are a breed that will actively seek your attention and affection and reward you with overwhelming loyalty. They are one of the most sensitive and intelligent of all the dog breeds and this comes at a cost to their health.

They are prone to suffering from a number of health issues from painful arthritis, to debilitating skin and digestive issues which usually results in a shorter lifespan and a reduced quality of life.

Did you know that GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE(GSDR) NO1  founder is vegan and promotes vegan diet for all the rescue German Shepherds in her care!

German Shepherds are one of the dog breeds that respond so perfectly to a plant-based diet. It reduces skin, digestive and arthritic inflammation naturally without the need for long term medication and this is the secret to why they then go on to live longer, happier lives.

So many loyal and devoted German Shepherds end up in rescue centres as the pain from their inflammatory conditions can make them anxious and be just too much of a financial burden for people to cope with.

This is exactly what happened with George who was destined to be put to sleep in the rescue centre for this exact reason until her wonderful Mum Taz stepped in.

Which other German Shepherds have transformed on a vegan dog food diet?

German Shepherd's Eva and Sally with anal farunculosis
ANAL FARUNCULOSIS is just one of the very debilitating skin conditions that I have personally seen many times as a vet and it fills me with such overwhelming worry for these sensitive dogs that are infected.
They develop deep infections in the skin which break to the surface and seep constantly, and when it is around the sensitive tissue under their thick, bushy tails, it is very painful and debilitating.
Eva shown in the photo above is a rescue German Shepherd and this is her story told by her concerned Mum:
"My dogs love your plant-based dog food. One of my shepherds Eva has a very sensitive stomach and has developed Anal Furunculosis which is an awful condition. I have switched her to your food and currently she is mended and coming off her heavy prescription medication and doing well.
I am a regular contributor on a Facebook page Caring for Dogs with Anal Farunculosis and I have recommended the diet many time on there and endorsed your products. Alongside home cooked vege and your home cook Supplement which they have been having for the past 6 months also.

They love their food and do the little anticipation dance for every mealtime!

Both are rescues and one is a very old lady (Sally). Eva the black and tan is the one who has been affected. She currently has non open wounds and is down to 1 dose a week of Cyclavance. I have been bringing her off it very slowly under the supervision of my vet.

My vet originally wanted to do an operation to isolate out one anal gland and deep wound. But I requested the time to go down the diet route before operating.

Vet is very pleased with her recovery. I can't tell you how happy that makes me."

When nutrition is done right, you don’t necessarily notice it working — you just notice your dog thriving. No noise, no stress, no vet appointments. To benefit our environment and farmed animals too is a massive bonus!
