Oh how we love this story about Inky, the rescue Xoloitzquintlies (or Mexican Hairless!).

His wonderful Mum Susie says - "I have adopted all kinds of beautiful dogs but in 1998, we rescued our first little Chinese crested and he was so, so sweet, we have had hairless dogs ever since. (The rescue people have often phoned up and asked if I can take another one and how can I say no?). However as I am getting older I think I shall have to be more sensible and stricter with myself. 😕."

"This first photo I have sent you is of Inky’s sore skin when we first adopted him in September last year. He was having Apoquel to help him (which I didn’t like to give to him having read the side effects) and he was very sore and itchy.

The next photo I have sent is of Inky as he is now. No sore skin with his Just be Kind vegan diet and Omega 3 Algae oil! 😃

My other doggies Wolfie and Merlin (all rescue Mexican hairless) were already on a vegan diet - I don’t know what food Inky had been having before he came to us but obviously not vegan.

He’s 12 years old so I hope he didn’t have sore skin all the time before we adopted him. The photo shows his beautiful healthy skin now.

Thank you as always for all that you do" -  Susie.

Why is Omega 3 Daily so important for Inky's skin?

Inky's dedicated Mum home cooks so many wholefood plant-based meals (see the homemade recipes here) for her little rescues, and Omega 3 Daily forms a very important part of the supplements needed in our homemade recipes as it contains vegan Vit D3. This acts to support Inky's immunity, as well as the wholefood ingredients contributing to a healthy gut microbiome (and he LOVES the food that his Mum makes!)

The Omega 3's in the oil, as well as pure Astaxanthin antioxidant (that makes the oil pink from bright pink microalgae) are also vital to support Inky's skin and keep it hydrated and supple and support the skin barrier - especially as he has no fur, and just a devoted and wonderful Mum caring for him so well!
