💚 "Jimmy was living on the streets when we met him so, I guess, ate anything he could. So we can't really compare to pre-plant based, but we can say that he absolutely gets everything he needs from his foods from Just Be Kind.
He's got lots of energy (still like a puppy at 8+ years old), his coat is shiny and the physiotherapist he sees once a month is always happy with how he copes with having a front leg missing, as his joints and muscles are doing well to compensate: and this is on a plant-based diet!"

💚 We just had to share this enormously inspiring story about Jimmy as shared by his Mum. I had the pleasure of meeting Claire at Vegan Life Live in 2025 and I felt quite emotional hearing how Jimmy had been eating food from Just be Kind since 2021 and she couldn't be happier with how he is doing.
Here is his heartwarming story as kindly shared by his Mum -
💚 "We were backpacking the Cape Verde islands in 2017 and for two days only we hired a car on the Island of Santo Antao so that we could drive through some of the amazing scenery we’d read about. We had stopped to give various street dogs food and water on our trip, but hadn’t yet seen any with serious injuries. Until I saw Jim.
He was limping across some wasteland with a badly broken leg. We stopped, gave him dog food whilst trying to decide what to do and luckily for us there was a security guard nearby who was protecting some buildings not far from Jimmy.
We used google translate for him to tell us that he saw Jimmy get hit by a vehicle a few days earlier, he had reported it but nothing had happened. We knew we had to help and luckily Jimmy already trusted us and let my husband, Chris scoop him up and put him on my lap in the car.
I posted details about Jimmy on a Facebook group (mainly made up of tourists) and people on there were so kind and donated £600 on a go fund me page, which helped us bring Jimmy home in June 2018!
He’s now almost 9 (thought to be about seven months old when he was hit) and has been with us for 8 years! We bought his prosthetic leg from 3D pets based in New York and a year on he’s doing really well with it and with his foods from Just Be Kind - we only chose vegan foods for him and the best we could find!
He brings more joy to our lives than we could have ever imagined :) " - Claire
