What an inspiring story told by Mum Jenny of her adored rescue Frankie:
"Frankie arrived from a rescue centre aged 6 (fortunately his chip showed his name and date of birth).
We bonded immediately! He is half Staffie and the other half is half Springer, quarter Cocker, quarter mixed. So, being of mixed breeding, I hope he will live a very long time!
So, he is now 14 1/2! He is still full of vigour; we usually walk up to 9 miles a day, slightly curtailed at the moment as I have a painful hip, but still managing 5 or 6 miles! Since he has had a tracker, I now know how much further than me he walks.
For example, yesterday, I walked 7.9 miles (16,761 steps) but he walked 9.1 miles (66,038 steps)! He often walks almost twice as far as me, depending on where we are and how much time he has off lead.
He shows no sign of arthritis, and his coat is beautifully shiny.
He and I both have titanium in our left knees (he had a cruciate ligament op 3 years ago), and both have a leaky mitral heart valve, though neither of us show symptoms yet.
Sadly, his hearing is going, but he's getting very good at sign language!
Frankie has been on a variety of vegan dog food, which still continues, though his favourites are your Vegetal kibble and tinned, the Microbel kibble and the Jerky treats! He will do anything to get one!
Thanks for all you do for animals. I have trouble convincing others that a vegan diet is the way to go for both humans and dogs and cats, but you are doing a grand job."
Kind regards and best wishes, Jenny
PS: How we love this extra bit of information that Jenny shared with us in a second email...
"I am sending you a few pictures. Note the muddy legs in one!
As you will see, he's pretty grey round the muzzle now. (As am I, but on my head!)
My theory is that he was a failed gun dog, and dumped; the docked tail is a give-away, and when I first had him, he would chase a flying pheasant for miles, expecting it to drop.
Failed, as he would have eaten it, rather than take it back. That was before he knew better!"
- Kind regards Jenny

Do plant-based dogs like Frankie live longer and healthier lives?
Yes we absolutely believe that they do! Why Frankie has such longevity AND good quality of life, is shown in peer reviewed published science here that show that dogs fed a complete plant-based diet could live up to 18 months longer (!!)
“From my published research in 2022, dogs fed a plant-based diet could live up to 18 months longer than those fed a meat-based diet”
