Just Be Kind Dog Food

Omega 3 Daily For Dogs

Omega 3 Daily is a premium source of Omega 3 rich in DHA and EPA Omega 3s where fish get their Omegas from - the pure microalgae! As dogs cannot absorb their much needed fatty acids from sources such as flaxseed as well as we can, it is best to provide it in a source that they can absorb, and that they will love the taste of!

Formulated with human grade ingredients, Omega 3 Daily 150ml bottle offers a pure nutrition profile that we feel is the very best for your dog. Ideal for supporting dogs with joint pain, skin and digestive issues, heart concerns, and for very fussy dogs to keep them eating their pure plant-based wholefoods as it is so tasty!

Unlike typical fish-based supplements, it contains none of the toxic build-up of antibiotics, heavy metals and microplastics found in fish oils (with NO fishy breath!), but the best bit is the rich flavour – you are feeding your dog salmon oil without the salmon!

Each 1 teaspoon of Omega 3 Daily provides a whopping:
- 470mg EPA
- 330mg DHA
- Total Omega 3: 835mg

We have even included 0.2mg of the antioxidant powerhouse Astaxanthin from microalgae that krill and salmon eat to give their bright pink colour! Ideal to possibly delay the signs of ageing in your dog such as cataracts, greying muzzles and doggy dementia with its high anti-oxidant effect. Definitely something you want to add to your dog's food daily!

Please note: As it is full of such rich ingredients, introduce Omega 3 Daily slowly over 5 days increasing the amount daily to prevent stomach upsets.

Why Omega 3 Algae Oil?

1

Sustainable Pure Ingredients

Omega 3 Daily is sourced from sustainable microalgae, a safer, purer alternative to fish oil.

Each 5ml teaspoon of Omega 3 Daily contains:

  • Total Omega 3 835mg
  • Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) 470mg
  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) 330mg
  • Vegan Vitamin D3 3.5micrograms (140IU)
  • Astaxanthin 0.2mg

Ingredients: High Oleic Sunflower Oil, Algal Oil (DHA and EPA-rich oil from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp), Antioxidants (Mixed tocopherols, Rosemary extract, Ascorbyl palmitate), Astaxanthin NatAxtin (Astaxanthin rich oleoresin from Haematococcus Pluvialis), Vegan Vitamin D3. 45 Calories per 5ml

Why not flaxseed for dogs?

Other sources of Omega 3 for your dog include ALA fatty acid from flaxseed. Due to the very low conversion rate of ALA to the important fatty acids DHA and EPA in dogs, you would need to feed your dog a month's supply of flaxseed (ALA) to obtain the equivalent bio-available Omega 3 as you would obtain from 1/2 tsp of Omega 3 Daily!

Where does the Omega 3 come from?

Fish don’t naturally produce Omega 3 DHA & EPA in their livers, they get it from their diet of krill that eat the algae. The big fish (cod) eat the little fish… who eat the Omega 3 rich krill that eat the algae in the ocean.

Scientists decided to cut out the middleman… or middle fish in this case! The ocean bed is a complex ecosystem and small fish rely on this algae and krill to survive, so disturbing this ecosystem to obtain Omega 3 rich algae could be a damaging thing.

Very clever scientists (in this case in Holland) grow this algae which is cultivated in conditions just like the seawater in bioreactors on land without the pollutants and heavy metals that unfortunately affect many of our seas and oceans now. The end result is a high quality, plant-based source of pure Omega 3 DHA and EPA that the whole family can take (we do as a family:)

What are the plastic bottles made from and are they BPA free?

The plastic bottle is made from NEOPET 80 and is food safe, as well as BPA free and we have a BPA free statement here as our products are all human-grade.

We also have a Certificate of analysis (CoA) available showing the levels of EPA, DHA and results for heavy metal and oxidation testing.

The company producing our Omega 3 Daily are ISO22000 certified with certificates available upon request as we deal with a human-grade company.

Instructions for your dogs' needs

Omega 3 Daily can be given to dogs and puppies over 12 weeks of age. Add to your dog's dry food, tinned food or home cooked food EVERY DAY to enhance their health.

Please note: As it is full of such rich ingredients, introduce Omega 3 Daily slowly over 5 days increasing the amount daily to prevent stomach upsets.

Small dogs  <10kg - 1/2 tsp daily (1 bottle will last 2 months)

Medium dogs  10 - 25kg 1 tsp daily (1 bottle will last 1 month)

Large dogs  25 - 45kg 2tsp daily (1 bottle will last 2 weeks)

Extra large  45kg+ 3 tsp daily (1 bottle will last 10 days)

Please note that this dose can safely be doubled if your dog suffers from arthritis or itchy atopic skin conditions, and you are using Omega 3 for its anti-inflammatory effect due to the high levels of EPA.

Another option for dogs with arthritis, is to combine Omega 3 Daily with our GOLD DUST Joint and Heart Supplement for maximum intake of anti-inflammatory joint nutrients and a JOINT POWER DUO.

Are there any concerns with giving Omega 3 Daily?

If your dog is due to go in for a routine operation such as a dental or planned spay, then stop giving the Omega 3 Daily for a week before and a week after the operation. Omega 3 naturally thins the blood which could result in extra bleeding, although many surgeons say that Omega 3s are absolutely fine to give in humans and in dogs prior to surgery.

Remind us why Omega 3 is so beneficial to our dog's health?

The human and dog body can make most of the types of fats it needs from other fats or raw materials. That isn’t the case for Omega 3 fatty acids. These are essential fats—the body can’t make them from scratch but must get them from food.

Most of us know the benefits of Omega 3 acids in our diet. These important acids are DHA and EPA carrying a host of benefits, mostly centred around their anti -inflammatory nature.

*SO GOOD FOR YOUR DOG'S BRAIN, SKIN, JOINT AND HEART HEALTH*

THE UNSUNG HERO FOR YOUR DOG’S PAINFUL JOINTS

Omega 3 fatty acids, particularly EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) for joints, and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), are known for their anti-inflammatory properties.

Inflammation is the body’s natural response to injury or disease, but it can lead to joint pain and stiffness when it becomes chronic.

By reducing inflammation, Omega 3 can help alleviate these symptoms, making it a crucial nutrient for maintaining joint health. See published studies here on the efficacy of Omega 3 fatty acids in arthritis in dogs.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

Omega 3 also plays a significant role in collagen production.

Collagen is a protein building block for most tissues, including your dog’s joints. It provides structure and strength to their joints, helping them to function smoothly.

By promoting collagen production, Omega 3 helps maintain the integrity of their joints and reduces the risk of wear and tear.

Moreover, Omega 3 enhances calcium absorption in their body.

Calcium is a crucial nutrient for bone health in dogs. It helps build strong bones and maintain bone density.

By enhancing calcium absorption, Omega 3 contributes to bone health, providing additional support to your dog’s joints.

After all, healthy bones are essential for healthy joints!

ALGAE OIL IS A PLANT-SOURCED POWERHOUSE

Made from bright pink microalgae called Astaxanthin, it provides a rich source of antioxidants that is 150 times stronger than carrots! We have ensured that our Algae oil contains double the amount of EPA compared to DHA which does not exist in any other Algae oils as EPA is particularly beneficial for your dog's joints.

Plus, it’s heavy metal and pollutant-free, and suitable for all ages from puppies to elderly dogs, making it a safe and sustainable choice for ALL dogs.

Antioxidants are there to reduce greying of your dog's muzzle, delay the onset of cataracts in their eyes, and it enhances their brain health to delay any doggy dementia and keep them bonded to you for longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Is a plant-based diet safe for my dog or cat?

Absolutely. As a vet with 30+ years of experience, I formulated Just Be Kind to meet the rigorous FEDIAF nutritional guidelines for both dogs and cats. Our products are "complete and balanced," meaning they contain all the essential amino acids - includingTaurine and L-Carnitine -that pets need to thrive, maintain healthy hearts and stay active at every life stage. We only use science andevidence-based studiesto support all the products we promote.

2

How does 'soya-free' nutrition help with itchy skin and allergies?

Many common pet allergies are triggered by animal proteins or GMO soya fillers found in standard dog and cat food. By being 100% pure plant-based, soya-free and gluten-free, Just Be Kind removes these inflammatory triggers. You should notice a significant reduction in scratching, redness, and digestive upsets in your dog or cat within 2-4 weeks of removing these common allergens from their food bowl.

3

My vet is sceptical about plant-based diets; what should I tell them?

It’s natural for vets to be cautious, as many plant-based brands are not yet known due to fierce competition and dominance by the meat-based pet food corporates used in vet practices in the UK. However, Just Be Kind products are all chosen by Dr Arielle Griffiths (MRCVS) and backed by robust clinical evidence. We provide full nutritional transparency and use highly digestible proteins and cutting edge novel fermentation proteins, which many veterinary professionals now recommend as a clean, hypoallergenic alternative to traditional "Prescription Diets."

4

Will my pet actually like the taste? (What if they are picky?)

We use clean, wholefood ingredients such as Faba bean protein, Omega 3s and fermented proteins that have a rich "umami" flavour that dogs and cats crave. If you have a particularly picky eater, we recommend adding our Omega 3 Algae oil to any of the foods we stock. It's rich aroma and taste is highly enticing and acts as a perfect addition to encourage even the most hesitant dog or cat to lick their food bowls clean.

5

How do I transition my pet to Just Be Kind?

We recommend a gradual 7–10 day transition to allow your pet’s gut microbiome to adjust. Start by mixing 25% Just Be Kind foods with 75% of their current food and slowly increase the ratio every few days. For cats, who can be more sensitive to texture changes, taking the full 10 days ensures they accept the new protein comfortably without any tummy upsets. You can add nutritional yeast, warm the food slightly, or add Omega 3 Daily Algae oil to their food to encourage fussy eaters to try the food.
