Oh how grateful I am for all you lovely people who send me stories like these to share and inspire ALL of us -
"Hello Arielle I know you are starting on a journey to promote a healthy plant based diet for cats so I thought I would tell you Celine's story.
Celine was rescued from a cat farm ..... yes, a farm producing cats for the vivisection industry (Hillgrove Farm). She was fully grown but young when I rescued her and she lived with me for 21 years. From memory I think she was about 3 or 4 years old when I transitioned her onto a 100% complete nutrition, plant based cat kibble Ami and also Benevo dry food.
She remained very fit and healthy but as it was such a generally unknown diet I asked my lovely vet if she would check her bloods when she was approx 16 years. My vet was I think pleased but surprised at the results, Celine had the blood profile of a cat aged about 8 years not 16!
In the photo she is at least 20 years old and still not showing any signs of kidney disease (the slightly lower protein and much lower Phosphorus appear to protect plant based cats).
She eventually passed in her 21st year with me from unknown cause maybe just old age.
Celine was just one of 7 cats that I have transitioned onto a plant based diet and all 6 have lived well into late teens early 20s. Pixie Cat is number 7 but is only 5 years.
Looking forward to great things ahead with Just be Kind for cats AND dogs."
