Milly the Border Terrierβs Mum is particularly interesting as she is not vegan or even vegetarian herself but Milly suffers from a severe meat intolerance and she was just about to go through a colonoscopy after repeated visits to the vet until one of the specialist vets in Aberdeen suggested she try a vegan diet.
Here are her Mumβs words β
βMilly started to get tummy troubles quite early on. We tried so many different foods and sheβd be ok for a while then sheβd start to be poorly. This went on for years. The vet did some blood tests but they couldnβt find anything wrong with her and we didnβt know what it was.
Last summer she was ill on and off for 4 weeks. Getting us up during the night to be sick or have an upset tummy. We were all upset about it and didnβt know what to do so went back to the vets.
After some more blood tests we were referred to a specialist vet. We thought she was going to have a colonoscopy but the vet asked us if we had tried vegan dog food. We said we hadnβt so she said to try that before they do any further tests.
After a few weeks of being on the Solo Vegetal she was so much better. Itβs been 8 months now and sheβs like a different dog.
Full of energy! She does still get poorly but only if she eats something she shouldnβt which thankfully doesnβt happen all that often.β
What a wonderful success story! As explained in the video below, she is back to being a happy little dog who loves life and her food and by sorting out all her symptoms with a natural vegan diet, she has also saved her owner so much money as there are no more regular vet visits!
