"Another success story here...I am sooooo pleased as my little Merlin's skin is nearly clear of the crusts and sores that he has been suffering from since I got him home. I have tried so many pills and potions and different raw foods but it kept raising its ugly head. Poor love.
Ever since I got Merlin from the breeder (he is a Japanese Miki) when she had finished with him as a stud dog, even though she said she loved him...yeah right...he wasn't badly treated, but lived with 13 other dogs as all used for breeding!
You advised soaking the Microbell as I was concerned he was so small for the biscuits and just to let you know that the Microbell swells up perfectly overnight. I add a little Omega 3 oil and filtered water and some seaweed grains and he laps it up. Merlin's skin seems to be improving, so fingers crossed.
He has just eaten his breakfast no problems, I am sooooo happy! No more poor creatures to say sorry to in the morning!
He has had what I can only describe as a back sneeze and he snores, but since he has been on the Microbell, this has lessened. I wonder if his mucous membranes like his skin were inflamed?
He does not even snore or snort as much as he did before, it must be the inflammation has gone away too.
Thank you again Arielle from a very happy Miki Mummy x Lynn "

In the article above, we mention that little Merlin was originally used as a stud dog and thankfully Lynn rescued him from being used to continue with breeding from the home where he lived with 13 others.
I wrote a post a few years ago comparing the life of a rescued breeding Cavalier called Miss Zsa Zsa to the life of a dairy cow. Read this post here showing how dog breeding and dairy farming are very similar (and yes it did make me cry to write what I knew!)
So sadly, many breeding dogs that struggle to breed on their own like Bulldogs; are artificially inseminated as females and artificially ejaculated to produce sperm - it sounds too horrific for our dogs doesn't it?
I remember as a veterinary student in the 1990's being taught how to ejaculate a British Bulldog to be used for breeding. Typical to all veterinary students, we never even questioned how barbaric this was on the dog and what we were perpetuating by doing it - producing more of a breed that could not even mate and reproduce naturally!
In the same year at vet school, we were also taught how to electroejaculate a bull used to produce many fine meat-rearing calves or future dairy cows and yet again, little did we even think how barbaric this practice was....and it is used daily as these poor bulls are quite literally tortured electrically via the rectum to provide strong sperm to impregnate cows yearly (equally as barbaric) for the meat and dairy industry.
Thank goodness I now know better and can do better as a vegan vet and spread the message and educate as many people as possible in these cruel procedures that we put our animals through to eat a cheese pizza or a milk latte or a burger!!!
Thank goodness for innovation with dog food and groundbreaking food such as Microbell, and thank goodness for veganism in providing for a kinder world where we are mindful of these atrocities 💚
