Why Omega 3 Algae Oil?

1

Why not flaxseed for dogs?

Other sources of Omega 3 for your dog include ALA fatty acid from flaxseed. Due to the very low conversion rate of ALA to the important fatty acids DHA and EPA in dogs, you would need to feed your dog a month's supply of flaxseed (ALA) to obtain the equivalent bio-available Omega 3 as you would obtain from 1/2 tsp of Vegetology Algae oil!

Where does the Omega 3 come from?

Fish don’t naturally produce Omega 3 DHA & EPA in their livers, they get it from their diet of algae. The big fish (cod) eat the little fish… who eat the Omega 3 rich algae in the ocean.

Scientists decided to cut out the middleman… or middle fish in this case! The ocean bed is a complex ecosystem and small fish rely on this algae and seaweed to survive, so disturbing this ecosystem to obtain Omega 3 rich algae could be a damaging thing.

Scientists decided to grow this algae which is cultivated in conditions just like the seawater in bioreactors on land without the pollutants and heavy metals that unfortunately affect many of our seas and oceans now. The end result is a high quality, plant-based source of pure Omega 3 DHA and EPA that the whole family can take (we do as a family:)

Amount to give your dog

  • THE DOSE IS 1 tsp A WEEK FOR A 5kg DOG
  • 2 tsp A WEEK FOR A 15kg DOG
  • 3 tsp A WEEK FOR A 25kg DOG
  • 1/2 – 1 tsp DAILY FOR A 30kg+ DOG

Please note that this dose can safely be doubled or even tripled if your dog suffers from arthritis or itchy atopic skin conditions, and you are using Omega 3 for its anti-inflammatory effect due to the high levels of EPA.

Another option for dogs with arthritis, is to combine the Algae oil with our GOLD DUST Joint and Heart Supplement for maximum intake of anti-inflammatory joint nutrients and a POWER DUO.

Remind us why Omega 3 is so beneficial to our dog's health?

The human and dog body can make most of the types of fats it needs from other fats or raw materials. That isn’t the case for Omega-3 fatty acids. These are essential fats—the body can’t make them from scratch but must get them from food.

Most of us know the benefits of Omega 3 acids in our diet. These important acids are DHA and EPA carrying a host of benefits, mostly centred around their anti -inflammatory nature.

*SO GOOD FOR YOUR DOG'S BRAIN, SKIN, JOINT AND HEART HEALTH*

THE UNSUNG HERO FOR YOUR DOG’S JOINTS

Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), are known for their anti-inflammatory properties.

Inflammation is the body’s natural response to injury or disease, but it can lead to joint pain and stiffness when it becomes chronic.

By reducing inflammation, Omega-3 can help alleviate these symptoms, making it a crucial nutrient for maintaining joint health.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

Omega 3 also plays a significant role in collagen production.

Collagen is a protein building block for most tissues, including your dog’s joints. It provides structure and strength to their joints, helping them to function smoothly.

By promoting collagen production, Omega-3 helps maintain the integrity of their joints and reduces the risk of wear and tear.

Moreover, Omega 3 enhances calcium absorption in their body.

Calcium is a crucial nutrient for bone health in dogs. It helps build strong bones and maintain bone density.

By enhancing calcium absorption, Omega 3 contributes to bone health, providing additional support to your dog’s joints.

After all, healthy bones are essential for healthy joints!

ALGAE OIL IS A PLANT-SOURCED POWERHOUSE

That’s where Vegetology’s Omega 3 EPA & DHA supplement comes in. Made from microalgae, it provides a high dose of EPA and DHA in a form that your dog’s body can easily absorb.

Plus, it’s heavy metal and pollutant-free, and suitable for all ages from puppies to elderly dogs, making it a safe and sustainable choice for all dogs.
