Border Terriers are one of my favourite breeds - fiercely loyal, independent and full of fun. They were the loved breed of the vet who inspired so many - James Herriott (yes I read all his books as a child which inspired me to become a vet!!)

They also are the one breed that suffer from a condition called CECS or cramping syndrome. It is a very distressing condition that can only be managed with a strict diet for life that is completely gluten free.
